What is otaku?

I’d like to talk about what is otaku. The word otaku refers to an overly obsessive fan of something like an anime or a manga and so on. It can sometimes refer to any kind of "geek" in English. In Japan, a movie and a drama which have an otaku as them hero was great success few year ago. As you know, the title was “denshaotoko”. These works made otaku more popular. In my opinion, I don’t like otaku though they have a very clear-cut personality. I think they are strange, aren’t they? But some people attract the interest.
